Rainy River Electric has been fundamental to the success of Camp of the Woods since I entered the campground business in 2020. I wanted to grow! It’s a good thing I didn’t know anything about electricity because as 6 seasonal site guests became 25, the electrical system was pushed to its limits.
A few of the more extreme cases I had to call Rainy River Electric to fix were:
- sparks on overhead electrical wires that required replacement
- water down conduits that ignited an outdoor panel box on fire
- excessive electrical demand that blew a main fuse
Richard and Deejay have also:
- replaced about a million breakers in campsites, cabins, and main service loops
- changed out multiple site outlets from “15 amps” to “30 amps”
- ensured that electricity has always been supplied to the sewage lift station, which is very important for the functionality of this little campground community
- replaced a hot water tank in a rental camper
- and a lot more
They were incredibly patient with me in the early days of my blissful ignorance when I had to call them to trouble shoot things like a tripped GFI and a blown fuse in a rental camper.
In 2025, Richard helped me realize a goal I’d been working toward since I opened the campground – to install a much needed bigger transformer. The successful installation in June will ensure the electrical needs of new and existing guests can be provided at Camp of the Woods.
Richard and Deejay are currently wiring a cabin that is being built here.
Their care for their local community (Town of Rainy River and surrounding area), and belief in the entrepreneurial spirit, is reflected in the quality of their services and their fair market pricing.
Thank you so much!
